Team chat

Team chat is your company's internal chat, inside AgentticCRM. It has channels, direct messages, threads, mentions and calls, just like Slack or Teams, and it can replace them or the team's WhatsApp group. You can also paste the link to a client, a proposal, an invoice or a task into a message, and the chat shows its current details so everyone sees them right there.

  • Included in every plan, with no other chat to pay for per person
  • Every project and every client can have its own channel
  • Turn a message into a task or a ticket in one click

AgentticCRM's Chat screen with fictitious data. On the left are the channels and direct messages, with a green dot on whoever is online. On the right is the private channel of a Grupo Almendra project. One message shows the card of an accepted proposal, with its total. Another message asks about the client's email and shows that email's card. That message's menu has the Create task option, and below it appears the card of the task that was created.

What changes compared with Slack, Teams or a WhatsApp group

Many service teams pay for a chat per person or coordinate in a WhatsApp group. It works for talking, but the client's details live in another system and have to be copied and pasted by hand.

With a separate chat

  • You pay one more subscription, which goes up with every person you hire
  • What gets decided about a client is not saved on that client's record
  • To discuss a client's email, someone forwards it to the group
  • When someone promises to do something, nobody adds it as a task

With Team chat in AgentticCRM

  • It is included in your plan, for the whole team
  • Every project and every client has its own channel, opened from its record
  • You send the client's email or WhatsApp to a channel so the team can discuss it, without the client seeing it
  • You turn the message into a task with an owner and a due date

Your clients never see the team chat, not even from their portal.

The chat features your team already knows

If your team comes from Slack or Teams, it will recognize these features and many of the keyboard shortcuts.

  • Channels, direct messages and groups

Public channels anyone on the team can find, private channels for their members only, direct messages and small groups of up to nine people.

  • Threads and mentions

Reply inside a thread so that conversation does not fill up the channel. You can mention one person, a whole department, the entire channel or only the people online right now.

  • Files, reactions and pinned messages

Attach up to ten files per message and open images and PDFs without downloading them. React with an emoji and pin important messages to the top of the channel.

  • Reminders, drafts and scheduled messages

Save a message to answer later and ask to be reminded. Leave a draft half-written or schedule a message to send itself at the time you choose.

  • Search across every message

Find a message by its words, by who wrote it, by channel or by whether it had a file or a link. Press ⌘K to jump to any conversation.

  • Notifications and status

You get notified in the bell, in your browser and, when you are not online, by email. You can set your status, pause notifications on a schedule and pick words that alert you as if you were mentioned.

Share a client, a proposal or an invoice in a message

Copy the link to a client, a proposal, an invoice or a task in AgentticCRM and paste it into a message. The chat shows a card with its number, its name, the client it belongs to and its status; for a proposal or an invoice, the total as well. The card always shows today's details: if the invoice was paid yesterday, the card says paid.

Each person sees the card according to their permissions. If someone in the channel cannot access that invoice, they see a notice that there is a record they cannot open, but not its name or its total.

Turn a message into a task or a ticket

When someone writes something that needs doing, you open the message's menu and choose Create task or Create ticket. The form opens with the message text already copied and with the client or project the message mentions. The new task's card appears in the channel, so everyone knows it has been added.

When a client's email or WhatsApp arrives and you want the team's opinion before replying, use the Discuss with the team button in the Inbox. The client's message is sent to an internal channel, the team discusses it there and you reply to the client once from the Inbox.

How to move from Slack, Teams or WhatsApp to Team chat

  1. You set up the chat

In Settings you decide who can create channels, who can notify a whole channel, which channels new people join and how long messages are kept.

  2. Your team signs in with the account it already has

Each person joins the #general channel the first time they open the chat, with the same account they use for the rest of AgentticCRM. Nobody has to be invited to another app.

  3. Every project gets its channel

Every new project creates its channel with the people on the project. For the clients you already have, you create their channel from the Chat tab on their record.

  4. You cancel the chat you used to pay for

Once the team is talking in AgentticCRM, you can cancel the other tool and stop paying its monthly bill.

In numbers

  • 0extra cost per person, because the chat comes with every plan
  • 8kinds of record you can share in a message, such as clients, proposals, invoices and tasks
  • 10commands you type with a slash, such as /task or /call

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost extra?

No. Team chat comes with every plan and every person on your team can use it. Calls use your plan's video rooms, and the unread-message summary uses the Assistant.

Can my clients see what the team says?

No. The chat is for your team only. When you use Discuss with the team, the client receives nothing. They only receive the reply you write them from the Inbox.

Can administrators read private channels?

No. A private channel is read only by its members. In Settings, whoever manages the chat sees each channel's name, who its members are and when it was last active, but never the messages.

Can I bring over the messages I have in Slack?

No, earlier messages stay in Slack. The practical way is to create the channels for your active projects first and set a date for the team to stop using the old chat.

What can ChatGPT or Claude do in the chat?

If you connect your ChatGPT or Claude to AgentticCRM, it can read and search your conversations, write messages, reply in threads, react, create channels and send an Inbox email to a channel. Its messages carry the Agent label and say on whose behalf it is writing.
